On IMTBIKE’s one day Madrid tour you’ll head due west from our offices on the M-501 for about 120km. From there follow signs for the N-502 to Avila which will take you up and over the Puerto del Pico, a beautiful mountain pass with awesome curves that parallels a 2000 year old Roman road. The next junction will be for Hoyocasero on the AV-905. Hoyocasero is home to the Cerveza de Gredos microbrewery, using the crystal clear mountain water to brew up tasty lagers and ales which can be found in select bars of the capital.
From here you can start picking your way east back towards Madrid on our favorite weekend roads. Expect an afternoon of curves, charming small towns, mountain scenery, great asphalt and very little traffic. From Hoyocasero you’ll need to plot your route through the following towns to stay on track: Navalosa, Navatalgordo, Burgohondo, Navaluenga, Cebreros, Hoyo de Pinares, Valdemaqueda, Robledo de Chavela, Navalagamella and Quijorna. From Quijorna return to the M-501 and then back to the IMTBIKE offices. If you navigate correctly you’ll have a 300km route and the perfect intro to what Madrid has to offer the motorcyclist.
